Enter Holdings — High Level Overview
Upload Holdings is how portfolio managers enter their current stock positions into ClearLedger. All position entry is done on the UH tab, which provides a guided input form for entering each holding accurately and consistently.
The process converts manager‑entered positions into a validated, engine‑ready dataset used for scoring, constraints, optimization, and compliance.
1. Enter Positions (UH Tab Guided Form)
Managers use the guided input form on the UH tab to enter each position’s:
-
Symbol
-
Quantity
-
Market
-
Currency
-
Valuation fields
This ensures clean, structured, and controlled data entry.
2. Export to Engine
ClearLedger exports the entered positions to a hardened CSV and sends it to the engine, ensuring consistent formatting and preventing data corruption.
3. Engine Validation & Translation
The engine validates all fields, calculates weights, checks for errors, and produces a translated version of the holdings.
4. Posting
Once validated, holdings are posted to the tenant workspace, becoming the official record used by all downstream analytics.
